Research
Our research sits at the intersection of trauma surgery and artificial intelligence. As practicing trauma surgeons, we design studies around real clinical problems, use large institutional imaging datasets and trauma registries, and evaluate models not only by accuracy but by how they change clinician performance and patient care.
Deep Learning for Trauma Radiographs
Physician-level detection of fractures and traumatic findings on plain radiographs — from PelviXNet for pelvic X-rays to rib, clavicle, and ankle fracture detection.
AI for Trauma CT
From single-organ injury detection to an AI-based computer-aided diagnosis system for whole-body trauma CT, supported by NSTC funding and international collaboration.
Human–AI Collaboration & Clinical Deployment
How should AI assist clinicians? We study different levels of AI support in clinical image interpretation and build human-algorithm integration systems for real emergency …
AI in Education & Trauma Data Science
Using AI to train the next generation of clinicians, and mining trauma registries and clinical databases — from injury epidemiology to massive transfusion prediction.
